Here it is our long awaited Charity candle.
I have worked really closely with Odette, Harry's mum over the last few months, she is a huge inspiration and an amazing women, to turn something so sad into something amazing and supporting other families who are going through the most unimaginable grief.
There were lots and lots of candle scents which were tried and tested, but Odette, her family and the rest of the Harrys Rainbow team decided on the Seaside Breeze scent. It is a beautiful scent and very apt for the charity.
The 31st October 2021 marks 10 years of the charity, and also should have been Harry's 18th Birthday. I can not forget to wish Jessica a very Happy 18th Birthday!!!
Odette wanted to do something a little more special to mark this occasion, and after speaking to Samantha Poole at the Love Local Hub in Milton Keynes, we joined together to create something special.
The candle is £15, with £7 from each candle going towards the Charity. If you can not afford this but would love to support the charity, there are also wax melts available, these are £4 per pack of 6 melts.
We have loved working with this amazing charity, and love what they do. After losing my first baby due to a miscarriage in October 2017, and October being the month for the wave of light campaign to raise awareness for baby loss the whole thing just fell into place.
Here is a little snippet of Harry's Legacy and Charity..
Harry became ill in March 2009, and Harry's parents had to come to the extremely difficult decision at the end of March 2009 to turn of Harry's life support. As a family they found it extremely hard to get the help and support needed for them, but in particular Jessica, Harry's twin sister.
Roll on to October 2011 and Harry’s legacy, “Harry’s Rainbow” was born.
Harry’s Rainbow is committed to supporting bereaved children and their families in the Milton Keynes and surrounding areas. We know how difficult it can be to help and support your children through their pain, grief and loss at the same time as trying to deal with your own. Therefore we aim to support the children affected by the death of a very significant family member, such as a parent or sibling.
Please head over to the Harrys Rainbow website to read more about the charity and what they offer.
Thanks so much for reading, and if you have any questions please do not hesitate to get in touch.
